Skene chocks are U-shaped devices used in boating to prevent dock or anchor lines from chafing as they pass over the rail of a boat. They provide a smooth surface for the lines to pass through from a cleat or Samson post to the dock, or to guide anchor lines over the bow. Skene chocks come in different types and materials.
