MB&F HM9-SV Sapphire Vision Blue and Green Versions In 2016, MB&F launched its first watch with a partial sapphire crystal case, the MB&F HM6 SV, with the “SV” in the name referring to “Sapphire Vision.” A year later, MB&F launched the HM6 Alien Nation, a collection of just four unique pieces that marked the manufacturer’s first watch to feature an all-sapphire case.
In 2019, MB&F launched the Horological Machine No.9, nicknamed the HM9 “Flow,” which pays homage to the exquisite automotive and aviation design of the 1940s and 1950s, with a case that echoes the smooth aerodynamic lines of the era. Inside the gorgeous case, the highly complex and unconventional HM9 movement consists of two completely independent balance wheels and a central planetary differential, performing a process of averaging two different heartbeats into a coherent pulse of time. Delicate task.
Two years later, in 2021, they launched the four-model HM9 “Sapphire Vision” collection – born from a desire to fully showcase the complex HM9 movement through a transparent case. Horological Machine No. 9 Sapphire Vision is available in four versions, each limited to five pieces: two versions with 18K red gold frames and NAC-coated black or PVD-coated blue engines; two versions with 18K red gold frames , with NAC-coated black or PVD-coated blue engines; both versions feature an 18K white gold frame and come with PVD-coated purple or red gold-plated engines.
