Vastu consultants evaluate a space's energy by determining its alignment with the five natural elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—as well as its adherence to directional principles. Vastu Shastra states that a peaceful living or working environment requires a proper balance of these factors.
A Vastu expert often starts by examining the property's orientation. The cardinal directions—north, east, south, and west—control diverse areas of existence. The north represents financial progress; the east represents health and well-being; the south represents stability; and the west represents prosperity. The entrance's location is crucial since it is thought to attract either positive or negative energy.
The consultant then inspects the location of essential areas such as the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and workplaces to ensure they follow Vastu principles. For example, the kitchen, which signifies fire, should be located in the southeast, while beds in the southwest provide stability.
Furthermore, consultants assess the flow of energy, or "prana," through the room. Clutter, incorrect furniture arrangement, or structural imbalances such as beams can block energy flow, causing stress, health problems, or financial challenges. Vastu consultants seek to restore positive energy by making specific modifications such as relocating furniture, altering colors, or adding elements like water fountains.
