I am an electrical estimator focusing on commercial construction projects, and I am happy to share my experience with this forum.
In the beginning, I believed I was capable of estimating the costs without the specific techniques used in commercial projects, though soon I realized how complicated these projects are. Have you gone through a situation where a project seemed to be more extensive than you initially pictured it and thus the stress accumulated in you?
At the moment, I make sure that all the wires, labor, and material costs are covered by a detailed
electrical estimating service. The project team has to get the scheme right from the beginning to curb the costs and follow the schedule. Has there ever been a project that went on hold because of unrealized costs?
I would like to hear about how you conduct electrical estimates for commercial projects or the difficulties you have encountered. I'm always looking to gain new knowledge from industry colleagues, so let me know.
