indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking.
CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate
LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or
fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP,
IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access
Lists. CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify,
either pass the current CCNA exam, or pass the ICND exam, or pass
any 642 professional level or Cisco Qualified Specialist exam
(excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a CCIE written exam on
or after October 1, 2004.
In early 1980's, Len Sandy Bosack, a married couple who worked
in different computer departments at Standford University, were
having trouble getting their individual systems to communicate. So,
in their living room they created a gateway server that made it
easier for their disparate computers in two different departments
to communicate using the IP protocols.In 1984, they founded cisco
systems.
The first product the company marketed was called the Advanced
Gateway Server (AGS). later Mid-Range Gateway Server (MSG), the
Compact Gateway Server (CGS), the Integrated Gateway Server
(IGS)and the AGS+.
